Fields of intervention: interior design

An extensive historical and architectural analysis formed the basis of the renovation project for the Galleria d’Arte Moderna Ricci Oddi in Piacenza, seeking to restore coherence to the spaces through a clean and contemporary language and divesting the original design created by the architect Giulio Rata of the various subsequent and incongruous additions.

The surfaces were finished in lime-plaster and are accompanied by a neutral and carefully calibrated color palette, created to enhance and complement the works of the collection. The series of portals in dark brown metal represents a distinctive element of the intervention, marking the transition between the various spaces and establishing a unifying theme along with the skirting element that extends around the floor. The furnishings, information totems and technical equipment have been coherently and harmoniously integrated, with particular attention paid to the relationship between function and aesthetics.

The restoration of the period furnishings, the new visual communications system and the realization of a display case dedicated to Gustav Klimt’s “Portrait of a Lady”, designed to highlight the work and guarantee security, together complete the project.
