A leap across 30 years of design
Super Frog is the version born to celebrate 30 years of the iconic Frog armchair designed by Piero Lissoni in 1995. During Milan Design Week, Lissoni & Partners realized the art direction, the visual identity, as well as a series of events created to present Super Frog and celebrate this special anniversary.
“Thirty years later, the Frog becomes Super because it’s filled out a little, become more robust — a beautiful thirty-year-old.” Piero Lissoni
An original visual and sensorial installation at the Living Divani Gallery in Corso Monforte in Milan saw the lobby of the showroom transformed into a meadow in bloom where the new Super Frogs moved around freely like vivacious amphibians, creating a dreamlike and fabled space.
A special catalogue with texts by Giovanna Zoboli and illustrations by Leonie Bos.
The same illustrations also became the inspiration for the exhibition at the Living Divani headquarters in Anzano del Parco. Printed in large format, the pictures accompanied the different variants of the Frog chair, from experimental prototypes to versions still in production, recounting its evolution over time.

- DESIGN
If the Frog chair was a strange creature – broad and low just like a frog and born initially as a wager – Super Frog
has a structure in aluminium with even more ample dimensions, playing on the contrast between lightness and solidity.
Even though the design has evolved, the identity that has made Frog an icon of contemporary design remains intact:
a perfect balance between character and sophistication.
To further emphasize the new aesthetic, the panel of the seat and backrest is available in two variants: one defined
by horizontal channelling, which accentuates the depth and rhythm, the other enhanced by a series of holes
which brings a certain dynamic to the surface.
“Frog was born with Living Divani. It could never have been born anywhere else. It was born in Anzano, with those fields,
the grass, those flowers and with that industrial and creative scale that could be generated only there.” Piero Lissoni

- IDENTITY
The catalogue narrates the evolution of this design piece through 30 stories written by Giovanna Zoboli and illustrated
by Leonie Bos.Thirty tales for an intrepid chair, with the numerous interpretations of Frog as the lead character.
Each of these stories was interpreted through illustrations and designs that bring each variant to the fore.
