La Triennale di Milano - Acqua, luce, benessere

9 / 21 january 2018 - Curated by Luca Molinari Studio
Projects by aMDL – Architetto Michele De Lucchi, Archea Associati, CZA Cino Zucchi Architetti, Lissoni Casal Ribeiro, Substantial Architecture.
The project proposal for the Ponte di Legno Thermal Baths aims to integrate the new building and “piazza” with the surrounding urban setting and the magnificent mountain scenery. The building, conceived as a stack of two irregularly shaped volumes, is made of a lower, transparent part which houses the public areas and a suspended, textured part with the more private wellness functions. The openness of the lower façade is ensured by the extensive use of glass materials, while the upper façade, made of corten steel panels, opens only towards specific views of the old town and the mountains; a series of carefully-placed voids penetrates the volume and generates various green spaces – the relax areas of the wellness path. The open air rooftop is arranged as a series of raised platforms visually protected from the surrounding buildings where the guests can enjoy the outdoor activities and overlook the panorama from a privileged, elevated lookout.
