Fields of intervention: architecture, landscape design & interior design
The project for a two-story villa of approximately 800 sqm is located on a rectangular and streetside lot of a previously demolished building in a sparsely populated residential neighborhood of Dubai.
Given the presence of neighboring buildings, there was a need to guarantee maximum privacy but without impeding the openings towards the outside areas of terraces, garden and swimming pool.
The architecture has been conceived as two overlaid volumes: a transparent lower floor, communicating directly with the external spaces and intended for the living area and support services, and an upper floor for the bedrooms enclosed in an “architectural skin” which, together with the pergolas, ensures visual screening for the terraces and large windows and limits solar radiation.
The overhang of the upper volume also provides shading for the large terrace that extends the length of the pool, while the L-shaped layout embraces the garden and seamlessly integrates the garage.
